Cavern Diving

Workshop 

• Practicing line handling and reel use: Learn and practice essential line handling skills. 
• Review of cavern diving equipment: Get familiar with the specific gear used in cavern diving. 
• Classroom sessions on dive planning and safety procedures: Engage in academic learning to understand the intricacies of safe cavern diving. 

Confined Water Sessions 

• Practicing line handling and reel use: Refine your skills in a controlled environment. 
• Mastering emergency procedures outside the cavern: Prepare for potential emergencies with practical exercises. 

Open Water Dives 

• Applying skills inside a cavern: Use your training in actual cavern environments. 
• Exploring within the light zone: Conduct dives in the cavern light zone to ensure safety and visibility. 

• Basic Scuba Gear 
• Primary and Backup Dive Lights: Ensure you have adequate lighting for the environment. 
• Line and Reel for Navigation: Essential for safe cavern navigation. 
• Single Cylinder with a Minimum Volume of 11.1 Liters/80 Cubic Feet or appropriate sidemount/twinset setup. 
• DIN First Stage with Primary Regulator on a 2m/7ft Hose, backup regulator with neck bungee, and SPG. 
• Buoyancy Compensator with Adequate Lift for the environment. 
• Personal Safety Spool, cutting device, and directional/non-directional markers. 

• Minimum age of 18 years. 
  
• Certified scuba diver for a minimum of three months with at least 25 logged dives or twenty hours of underwater time beyond RAID OW20. 
  
• RAID Deep 40 or RAID Explorer 30 or equivalent certifications if planned dives will exceed 18 meters (60 feet). 
  
• Certified as a sidemount diver or twinset diver if using that configuration.
